Seminars and Cinnamon Buns

Thursday I attended a truly enlightening seminar sponsored by the Swedish South Asian Studies Network on the state of health and safety in the Bangladesh ready made garment industry. It was incredibly illuminating information on corporate responsibility, specifically in relation to Bangladesh. I even got to meet the speaker, Doug Miller from Northumbria University, who has 30+ years of research experience focusing on equality, corporate responsibility and industrial relations. The excitement I experienced during the seminar is probably similar to what my dad experiences when watching the Lakers or USC while they're winning.

Today happens to be one of Sweden's national holidays dedicated to food--yes, there are actually a few of them. Today's day was in honor of the cherished cinnamon bun, or kanelbulle. I met up with Kate and Min for a fika in the afternoon and we gladly took part in this aspect of Swedish culture.

At our first stop, Lunds Stenusbageri. Kanelbullar, weiner tosca, and green tea.

The always amazing St. Jakobs, our second stop.
Don't worry, we split one bun three ways here.

At our final stop, Cafe Ariman, where we opted for a mozzarella baguette to balance out all the sugar we had consumed.
